New Construction
Follow the steps below for information on tap permits and connecting to the district system.
Applying for a Tap Permit
Before you begin construction, you will need a Water & Sewer Tap Permit from the Roaring Fork Water & Sanitation District. To receive a permit you must complete the Water & Sewer Tap Permit Application and either email to Tonya at info@rfwsd.com or mail it in with your tap fee to:
RFWSD
PO Box 1002
Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.
For single family homes, please pay the estimated tap fee below. Tap fees are based upon an EQR value which is a standard measurement used by the District in calculating fees, where 1 EQR equals the national average single family home. If after reviewing your tap permit application, we determine the EQR value of your home to be greater than 1, you will be billed for the additional amount.
Water Tap Fee | $6,700/EQR |
---|---|
Sewer Tap Fee | $11,500/EQR |
Total Tap Fee | $18,200/EQR |
Since there is a 5-day processing period, we recommend that you apply for your tap permit from the District when you apply for your building permit. Connections to the District system are not permitted until a tap permit has been issued.
Click here for Water and Sewer Tap Permit Application* An EQR is a standard measurement used by the District in calculating fees and represents the national average single family residence. We recommend that you pay your tap fees based on one (1) EQR per residential unit. After receiving your application, we will be able to determine if your home's EQR value is greater than one (1) EQR. An invoice will be sent for any additional amount due.
Tap Connection/Inspection
Before construction begins, it is strongly recommended that your contractor review the Contractor’s Information Sheet* and schedule a pre-construction meeting with the District’s Construction Manager. A representative of the District must perform an inspection of all connections to the District’s system. Inspections should be scheduled 48 hours ahead of time by calling the Construction Manager at (970)618-4187.
Click here for Contractor's Information Sheet* As the information in the Contractor’s Information Sheet** represents only a small portion of the District’s requirements, a complete copy of the Rules & Regulations should be reviewed.
